                       Great News for This Year's Merlefest. 2005

This year Nickel Creek will be performing at various stages. Keep an eye out
for them. It has not been announced what days or locations they will be
performing. Loretta Lynn will kick off Merlefest 2005 on Thursday, April 28.
  Other artists scheduled to perform are Doc & Richard Watson, Earl Scruggs,
Vassar Clements, Bobby Hicks, Roland White, Del McCoury, Peter Rowan , The
Chieftains, Rodney Crowell, The John Jorgenson Quintet, Robert Lockwood, Jr.,
Allison Moorer, Buddy Miller, Footworks Percussive Dance Ensemble, Bela Fleck,
Sam Bush, John Cowan Band, Nashville Bluegrass Band, Tony Rice, Cathy Fink,
Marcy Marxer, Allison Krauss & Union Station with Jerry Douglas, Railroad
Earth, Donna the Buffalo, The Duhks, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder,
Tony Ellis & the Musicians of Braeburn, Jim Lauderdale, BR549, and John
Hiatt. The weather is great this week. Hopefully the rain will stay away for
this years Merlefest Americana Music Festival. With the main theme being
Bluegrass, also included are Celtic, Contemporary Country Music, Vintage
Country Music, Folk Music, and styles from all over the world. Past Merlefest
performers and attendees have included Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, Arlo Guthrie,
Robert Earl Keen, bass guitarist for Led Zepplin (sorry, forgot his name),
