4 cups rice, corn or wheat cereal squares 4 cups small pretzel twists or sticks 2 cups salted mixed nuts 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted 1/2 cup mild flavored honey
Preparation
Combine cereal, pretzels and nuts in 9 x 13 baking pan. Combine butter and honey. Pour over all, tossing lightly to coat evenly. Bake at 350 degrees 45 to 50 minutes, stirring frequently or until crispy and caramelized. Store tightly covered. Makes about 2-1/2 quarts. Microwave: Melt butter in glass baking pan on HIGH for 1 to 1-1/2 minutes. Stir in honey and blend thoroughly. Add cereal, pretzels and nuts. Toss lightly to coat evenly. Cook on MEDIUM for 10 minutes. Stir and con- tinue cooking on MEDIUM for 5 minutes. Stir again and cook on MEDIUM for 5 to 6 minutes or until crispy and caramelized. * Hint: For Honey Spice Party Mix add 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg to butter mixture before cooking.
